Into the Shadows

Shadows at Atlantic Point -

The first novel of the series

Rocky Springs Park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania was an abandoned amusement park that had piqued my interest for many years as a child. I had heard stories from my parents, grandparents and several great aunts about the dizzying drop of the roller coaster and wonderful times spent in the dance hall during the early part of the 20th century. Rocky Springs also housed one of the most beautiful carousels ever designed with hand carved, wooden animals.

In my early years, all that was visible to those passing by the abandoned park were the entrance gates and the tall peak of the roller coaster rising up from behind thick overgrowth. As luck would have it, Rocky Springs reopened one Halloween weekend, more than a decade after its last ticket sale. With my first driver’s license and my parent’s car, my cousin and I traveled to the ancient park. Three rides had been restored as a prelude to a comprehensive rehabilitation effort. The rustling of autumn leaves, the eerie setting, the ancient colored lights and the musty old rides gave inspiration to what would become my first book.

Shadows at Atlantic Point is the first novel in The Shadows Series, a collection of mysteries of psychological suspense connected by elements and moods that will escort readers to another place and time. A place where what is hidden in the shadows is best left undiscovered.
